The 2016 Awards Banquet is scheduled for Sunday, April 2, 2017, at the 4-H Building, Leavenworth County Fairgrounds in Tonganoxie. Dinner at 1:00, followed by presentation of 2016 Awards. Short meeting to follow. KS01 will furnish the meat, drinks and table ware. Members are to bring a side dish or dessert. Everyone loves to eat so bring your favorite dish. Don’t forget to bring your Mom and Dad, Grandpa and Grandma. RSVP by March 26, please do so by email. Really need to know how many pee wees will be there. I always want to make sure our little races are not left out. If for some reason you can not attend and receiving an award, you need to arrange for someone to pick up your award.
Everyone is invited. Special invitation goes out to all the new members. Come meet and visit so everyone gets to know each other. With all the new members this would be a great chance to put a face with a name.

2015 State Championships are in the books! KS01 was well represented this year. And as always there was lots of money won by our members. Everyone had a good time and to my knowledge no problems were had. Looking forward to the 2016 State Championships.

Thank you to all the KS01 members that brought baskets for the silent auction at State Championships. $519.00 was collected from the Theme Baskets, Back on Track Raffle and Cheryl’s massage chair. Thank you Erin Merchen for buying the Hunting Basket. The free open entry for 2016 State Championships goes to Candace Bowman.

KS01 has 3 more shows in 2015. If you are setting on the bubble for awards you need to make every effort to attend. We are going to be short a couple of shows this year. Mother nature just did not help us out again this year and several shows were cancelled. Remember you must attend 8 shows to qualify for awards. I’m starting to order awards so if you have any suggestions on items that would be different or unusual let me know and I will give them a look. I am always open for new ideas.

Douglas County has upped their price on tractor drivers. Instead of the $15.00 per hour that was being paid they are now charging $25.00 per hour. We cannot provide our own driver, but we can provide our own tractor and driver. If anyone knows of a tractor that can be used for our Sunday shows at Douglas County Fair Grounds for our races that could save some money. Just let me know!
